The Danna Langkawi - A Member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World

The breakfast and the facilities. Amazing pool and good beach in front of the hotel. The room was big comfortable and very clean.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at this amazing small luxury hotel with colonial vibes offering 5 star level across the board, in terms of comfort, room size, cleanliness, service, Buffet Breakfast, meal choice and quality( would recommend Half Board option). A special mention is deserved to the warm and welcoming hospitality from all levels of staff and management … a personal touch that escapes many large hotels. Away from the main built up areas of Kuah Town and main resort areas of Pantai Kok, it enjoys a stunning beach location with a serene and beautiful vista. It is in easy acces to the Cable car and Skybridge and only 15 minutes taxi ride to/from the airport. To us a small minor issue - It was not safe to swim in the sea during our stay due to conditions( jelly fish) but this was not a dealbreaker as the generous sized swimming pool and beautiful poolside area with comfortable sun loungers, more than made up for it. We like change and don’t generally go back to the same hotel, but this hotel is definitely a high contender for a second visit.

The Grand Viceroy room was just as described, beautiful view over the beach and pool, large room with excellent amenities, very clean. Sun loungers and day bed on the terrace with a cooling fan overhead. Would go back in a heartbeat. Terrace Italian restaurant was very good. Staff were excellent, especially M.s Meliko who helped sort out a few things for us, staff in the lounge for evening drinks were great, but all staff were very amiable and wanting to please.

The hotel has a colonial architecture with high ceilings, spacious stately reception areas, white washed walls meshed with wooden furniture and finishings.. The crescent shaped Private beach has a great vibe with white sands, tropical trees and a view of islands, a marina and a lot of boats. Water is mostly warm, not very clean and gets jellyfish, so not great- similar to dishwasher water. The shallow, super warm infinity Pool is the second best alternative when you want to cool down. Rooms are clean, spacious and addresses your needs. The staff is very cordial, kind and attentive, but when you catch them, as they do try to avoid eye contact so good luck in the restaurants and beaches. Food is good, beer is always warm.

Our stay at The Danna Langkawi was excellent. The beach is private so you do not interact with noisy tourists. The hotel is on a walking distance, rather to say a small hike from the 7 wells waterfall, def worth a visit for a day away from the beach. The hotel had an excellent breakfast, I guess by so far the variety and quality of the food was the best I have ever experienced. The room was super spacious, the view stunning over the rainforest (you do not always need a beachfront view). The welcome massage at the check-in was really a big plus.
